Director Ryan Ebner, began directing spots while a creative/partner at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, Sausalito, Calif. He directed a Sears package via Young & Rubicam (Y&R), Chicago, that HSI produced, which led to his signing with the company. He began his agency career at McConnaughy Stein Schmidt Brown, Chicago. He has helmed spots for clients including Anheuser-Busch, Taco Bell and Noah’s Bagels. As a freelance creative, Ebner worked with such shops as Wieden+Kennedy, Portland, Ore., 180, Amsterdam, Modernista!, Boston, Y&R, Chicago, and Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. Most recently, for Modernista!, Ebner worked on the charitable Red initiative from Bono and Bobby Shriver, which encourages consumers to purchase products through Red marketing partners, with proceeds going to AIDS research and treatment in Africa. His directing work for Norton “The Heist”, Spike tv and Sour Patch Kids are an example of original and creative comedy.
